(TLoS) Map of the Dragon Realms

Description

Before anyone asks, I created this map specifically for my TLoS fanfiction, Firelight. As such, it includes a bunch of places, ideas and names that aren't canon to the games. It's not just a general TLoS map. That's all~

Well, this only took a thousand years. I have aged greatly just in the process of making this. Or something. But hey, I finished it!

I needed to sketch up a basic map for Firelight so I wouldn't get lost during the story. That basic sketch got a little too excited and turned into this...over the course of several months. I feel like I'm going to add or change a bunch of things as I continue the fanfiction, but for now... It's complete.

Meet the Dragon Realms as Charla knows it! (Or will know it, anyway...) The Westwing Range serves as its westernmost border before minotaur territory takes over, and only a small portion of Dante's Freezer is considered part of the Dragon Realms. What this map does not include is the myriad of small dragon cities and townships, a large majority of which are on the southern isles. You can, however, see the major cities of Warfang, Pyreflight, Earthsoul and Jordguard. And Talon's Nook snuck in there somehow because it showed up in the story...

Up north you can see Mistral, the northern sky serpent city, and perhaps the biggest city in the Dragon Realms. And just to the north of Warfang is Zephyr, a smaller sky serpent city that will later be the site of the ruins of the Floating Isles. And yes, the Igneous Basin below will eventually become the Burned Lands. I'd date this map to, say...before the raid on the Dragon Temple.

I tried to base this map as much as possible on the maps we see in-game, but I did take some artistic liberties... Still, I hope you like it!

Readers of Firelight with a keen eye may notice that Lance's home, once Jord Haven, has been renamed Jordguard. They might also notice that I am a dumbass who continuously gets west and east mixed up and mistakenly called the west mountain range Eastwing in the fanfiction. Durr.

At some point I'd like to explain more about the places on this map, but that'll have to wait for another day...

EDIT 4 OCT 2017: I decided the Dragon Realms exist in the southern hemisphere of this world, wherein Dante's Freezer is the edge of the south pole and the northern reaches of the continent are not far from the equator. As a result, the north has changed from 'tundra wasteland' to 'warm and tropical plains/forests/beaches.' The Glacius Mountains, the highest mountains in the realms, remain the same. Like the himalayas of our world, the Glacius Mountains are so high above sea level their peaks are perpetually covered in snow.

EDIT 25 APR 2019: Oh look, more edits because I can't help myself. My view of this map continuously changes as I write the story, so I decided to shift some things around a little. Nothing too crazy; I fiddled with the positioning of Concurrent Skies and Pyreflight so that certain things in the fic seem more logical, cleaned up some of the rivers for the same reason, and extended the Northern Plains. I also added 'The Hinterlands' beyond the Glacius Mountains, an area well beyond the borders of the Dragon Realms (which actually ends just before the Northern Plains, at Earthrise Ridge) that dragons know very little about. The world is expanding!

I'd say that "somewhere north" suffices when we're questioning the geographical locations of ice levels. However, somewhere north of the south pole for any particular planet is fine too because south poles are usually somewhere cold in addition to north poles! XD
