Headcanon: Beast Maker Ember

Disclaimer: All of my Classic Spyro headcanons are created in accordance only with the original trilogy and A Hero's Tail. Any events, ideas or lore presented in other games (including Enter the Dragonfly and Shadow Legacy) are considered moot. Some of my headcanons may clash directly with such canon present in these games. This is intentional.

So I've been building up a lot of headcanon for the Classic Spyro games lately, starting with little miss Ember. I'm sure there's plenty of people who'd disagree with me on this one, but in my head, Ember is a Beast Maker. I know some people see her as a Peace Keeper because of her colour, but there's a few reasons I prefer her as a Beast Maker.

Firstly, her build. It's become somewhat of an accepted fanon that Ember is much 'chunkier' than other dragonesses like Cynder, and a lot of the Beast Makers also display this round, roly-poly physique that I associate with her. Secondly, her character. Beast Makers are said to be very laidback and self-indulging, and are also great lovers of music. I can very much imagine Ember as this type of dragon, especially when it comes to music. I like to think she can play the harp. And thirdly, just look at her Making some cute little mutant bunnies. Isn't she precious?

That's basically it, really. I just wanted to draw her showing off her Beast Making powers. She's not wonderfully skilled at it yet, and her beasts only live for an hour or two at most. But by the time she's an adult, she'll be able to Make beasts that live for years!
 
As you can see, one of her bunnies has already poofed. When the spell fails, the magic residue returns to the natural form it takes in the Dragon realms: a butterfly. No one really knows why this is, but they assume it has something to do with fairies... Sprites like Sparx feed on this magical residue to keep themselves healthy and regain energy.

I don't really know what was thinking with the weird mutant rabbits. I just had this image in my head of rabbits without arms, and I have no idea where it came from. But hey, they're kind of cute. 

Oh, and Ember's new necklace was a birthday gift from her parents to replace the old one that no longer fits her.

I'm becoming quite fond of cel shading... It's so crisp and clean.
